Natural Anti-Inflammatory Agents, for Pain Relief


Recommended by Dr. Robert Veligdan DMD [to be safe, check with your doctor first]

  1. Omega-3 EFAs [fish oil],  EPA and DHA; 1.5-5g taken with meals
  2. White willow bark; usual dose is 240 mg/day
  3. Curcumin [turmeric]; dosage of standardized turmeric powder is 400-600 mg per day
  4. Green tea; 3-4 cups of tea a day; extract typical dosage is 300-400 mg
  5. Pycnogenol [maritime pine bark] ; 100-200 mg a day
  6. Boswellia serrate resin [Frankincense]; 300-500 mg 2-3 times per day
  7. Resveratrol ; [skins of red wine grapes], not established dosing range, typical dose is 50-500 mg daily
  8. Uncaria tomentosa [cat’s claw]; as a tea or standardized extract in capsule, 20-60 mg daily

Herbs and Spices: cloves, cinnamon, Jamaican allspice, oregano, marjoram, sage, thyme, ginger, rosemary

FOODS: animal-based omega-3 fat [salmon and fatty fish], leafy greens, blueberries, tea [matcha green tea], fermented vegetables  and cultured foods [kefir, natto, kimchee, miso, tempeh, pickles, sauerkraut, olives], Shitake mushrooms, garlic
